Stewarding the Earth – Project Green
Our 2007-2010 Long Range Vision calls us to “Establish a task force whose mission shall be to assist both the church and its members in becoming leaders in the Southern Suburbs in efforts to steward our environment well – explore opportunities to “go green” and decrease our carbon footprint (solar panels, recycling, energy savings of all sorts, walk to church Sundays, etc.)”  The Project Green Task Force will be formed during the winter of 2008.  For more information, contact Elder Scott Swan.

Stewarding Our Church Facility
It takes many hands and many talents to care for our beautiful facility in a way that honors our heart for God and supports the church’s ministry to our community and world.  The Properties Committee is responsible for caring for all church-owned buildings, equipment, furnishings and grounds.  The nine-member committee, in collaboration with the Director of Church Operations, ensures that proper building maintenance is performed and repairs are promptly made; the building’s heating and air-conditioning systems are regulated for comfort and economy; the grounds are tended and enhanced; and the auxiliary building, the Community House, is properly maintained and utilized.

The Committee meets once a month to review budgeting and decide on action items to preserve and enhance the building’s use and performance.  Committee members’ talents range from engineering to carpentry to aesthetics and design.  We welcome additional assistance from any who are in any way handy or skilled.
