Chancel Choir
Chancel Choir is the traditional choral ensemble at Flossmoor Community Church.  Its mission is to glorify God through music by worship leadership.  Traditional anthems, oratorios, spirituals and motets from all periods of music history make up the Chancel Choir’s primary repertoire.  The Chancel Choir values the grand tradition of choral music within worship, but, to an even greater degree, the members value their fellowship with each other and their ministry to our congregation.  The choir is directed by Michael Rugen and rehearses on Thursday evenings at 7:30 in the Bell Chapel.  Rehearsals run from September to May and all interested vocalists, ages 14 and up, are welcome to participate!

Praise Ensemble
The Praise Ensemble is Flossmoor Community Church’s contemporary praise choir.  Its mission is to inspire, engage and lead the congregation in praise worship.  The repertoire of the ensemble is diverse and includes popular contemporary praise and worship music as well as urban gospel and contemporary settings of traditional hymns.  The ensemble, directed by Leslie Lowry, rehearses September through May and leads worship approximately twice a month.  Membership is by audition, which can be arranged throughout the year by contacting the Director of Music Ministries.

Chancel Ringers
The Chancel Ringers enhance our worship monthly with beautiful anthems for bells.  Directed by Michael Rugen, the Ringers rehearse on Thursday evenings in Rehearsal Room B from 6:30 – 7:20 p.m.  New members and substitutes with a good sense of rhythm are encouraged to come give ringing a try!

Rejoice! Men’s Ensemble
The FCC Men’s Ensemble (Rejoice!) is a men’s group that sings for worship services three or four time per year. It is open to all men who like to make a joyful noise unto the Lord. One or two rehearsals are held prior to the Sunday service in which the Men’s Ensemble sings with a final rehearsal early that Sunday morning.  Music selected for each service is usually composed or arranged by the director, Fred Hanzelin.  Interested men should contact Fred Hanzelin or the Director of Music Ministries for the current rehearsal and singing schedule.

Ladies of Note
The Ladies of Note meet in Bell Chapel on Thursday afternoons at 1:15 and rehearse for one hour.  This choral ensemble is made up of ladies who love to sing.  They prepare two to three-part repertoire of mostly Christian music to sing for church, health care and senior residences, or any interested venues.  Interested singers may contact director, Rita Littmann, at rjlittmann@yahoo.com

Children’s Choirs
At Flossmoor Community Church, we have an active children’s choral program which offers sacred singing opportunities for children in grades K – 7.  Careful nurturing of the growing young voice is a primary goal of the program, while children learn of the many ways in which we worship and praise God.
Cherub Choir, directed by Dawn DeVries, includes children in grades K – 3.
Jubilate Choir, directed by Judith Kirby, welcomes children in grades 3 – 7.

Both choirs meet on Wednesday afternoons at 4 from mid-September to mid-May and usually sing in worship once a month.  While new voices are welcome throughout the year, the Wednesdays after the choirs sing in Sunday worship would make for the smoothest transition.
