Forgiveness can be a heavy topic, stirring up difficult memories and deep emotions. In religious circles, we may be expected to forgive, but it feels forced, like a “should”, leaving us with questions like: What do I do when past hurts still hurt? Does forgiving mean forgetting? What about justice and accountability?
During these next 40 days and nights of Lent as we journey to the cross, we’re going to immerse ourselves in one of the most powerful postures of God toward humanity – that is, forgiveness. We receive it as part of the love and grace freely given us to give to others. We see it all throughout the life of Jesus and the community he formed. Learning to become a more forgiving person promotes not just our own well-being, but the flourishing of our communities.

The Harvard Human Flourishing Program insists that becoming a more forgiving person promotes not just our own well-being, but the flourishing of our communities. We know this from our faith tradition, but how do we do it?
Join others who want to build the muscle of forgiveness through self-directed exercises and group support. Don’t worry: you will not be asked to work through your deepest hurt or disclose private matters. However, processing our experience with others encourages our collective journey toward becoming a forgiving community!
Workbooks will be provided. Registration is required.
